Prior to his retirement in 1968, he was emplopyed as a dredge operator with J.P. Porter Co. Ltd., Halifax. He is survived by his wife, the former Inez Harpell; two sons, including William, Abercrombie; three daughters, eight grandchildren; a great-granddaughter. Funeral was held Monday, May 23, at Sonora United Baptist Church, Rev. Barry Dixon officiating. Burial in Riverside Cemetery, Sonora. Donations may be made to Sonora United Baptist Church.

She is survived by a daughter, Isabelle (Mrs Whitman Davis), Greenhill; a son, Alexander H., Lower Barney's River; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Winfield; two daughters, Harriett and Catherine; four brothers, William, Simon, Jonkthon (sic) and Daniel; a grandchild. Funeral was held yesterday (Tuesday) at Merigomish United Church, Rev. Peter Fraser officiating. Burial was in Murray's Point Cemetery. He was predeceased by a sister, Mildred; a brother, Austin. Funeral service was held 1 p.m. Friday, Gordon MacKenzie officiating. Burial was in Stillman Cemetery. She taught evening classes at the business school here. Two brothers, William M. of New Glasgow, and Nelson of Bassano, Alberta, and two sisters, Mrs. Bessie Cheney and Mrs. Janet Matthewson of Miller’s Falls, Massachusetts are dead. A number of nieces and nephews survive including: Ruth (Mrs. F. Keith Hamilton) – Silver Spring, Maryland and Mary Simpson – Los Angeles, California, also Raymond of Halifax. Surviving are his wife, the former Viola Huggan, of Avondale, Pictou County, one son, Donald, a student at Acadia University, two sisters: Margaret (Mrs. Charles Burrows) – London, Ontario, Helen (Mrs. Clifford Reeves) – New Glasgow, and one brother, James, also of New Glasgow. His body is in the Presbyterian Church Manse on Denoon Street. A funeral service wi! ll be held at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church conducted by the Pictou Presbytery and assisted by Rev. A.E. Morrison D.D. Interment will be in Heatherdale Memorial Gardens.

Surviving are his wife, Grace and two daughters: Frances (Mrs. Harry Rumley) – Merigomish and Chris (Mrs. Jack Miller) – Halifax, 4 grandchildren and 3 step-grandchildren. His body as at his home where funeral service will be held today at 2:30 p.m. Service will be conducted by Rev. H.M. Creaser. Burial will be in Brookside Cemetery.

The funeral service will be held Friday at Trinity United Church conducted b! y Rev. T.D.F. Everett. Burial in Heatherdale Memorial Gardens.
