Hi List in NS & NB in particular, Well, I finally got desperate this week (where there's a will there's a way) and wrote the Chamber of Commerce (Moncton, NB)when I couldn't find help on the internet and I knew in a few short days I would be coming to Canada. They put me in touch with ST. John's Church (previous Presbyterian) which put me in touch with a Tuttle Funeral Home...such nice people in the world!!! WEll, they have for sure found my gggGRandfather James Grant Cameron (1812-1891)in Moncton NB. this week. He is indeed buried there, as the family story goes!!! (but can't find his gravesite). He was born in New Glasgow and lived there til he was paralyzed for 17 years, and moved in with daughter Christiana Cameron (m. Lt. Col. McLelland Moore in Moncton). I will visit Moncton on my way to New Glasgow. We found out this week that James father's middle name was IAN, Donald IAN Cameron. There are so many Donald Camerons in the New Glasgow area, does anyone know of a DONALD *IAN* CAMERON. He was a graduate of Aberdeen U. we are pretty certain. It was said in our family history he opened the "1st Higher School" in HOPEWELL, NOVA SCOTIA. We have not been able to prove this true yet. Is this like the US High School? I know many have been helping find him, but with the middle name it would help narrow the search. If anyone knows of DONALD IAN CAMERON, could you please write me. And in case you see a lady with a super grin on her face, nearly floating down the street with excitement, yes, it's me!-- walking where my ancestors walked!-Cameron, MacKenzie, Sutherland, Fordyce, Fraser, Stewart, Sinclair (St. Clair), Brodie, Macdonald, Moore, McNeill, McInnis, McLeod, MacLean, McHardy, Ross, Rose, Motte, Gunn, Creighton, Ballam, Arundel, Saunders, Haney, Davis, Huntley. To All While pursuing McGlashen on the web it threw up A Pictou Cenotaph and Memorial site. For W.W.I it listed a Donald McGlashen from Bailey's Brook. Questions are:- 1.Has anybody seen this Cenotaph in person and could tell me if birth and or death dates are on it as well. 2.Can anybody tell me where Bailey's Brook is or better still is anybody on this list from that area? And I would be remiss if i didn't mention the recent coverage of the 10th yr. anniversary of the Trenton Mine Disaster. More heartbreaking now seeing the pictures of all those fine young children who are making it in life without a father. As a young child I remember all of us with ears gued to the radio with previous mine disasters, esp Springhill. One of my patients was a child of Maurice Ruddick "The Singing Miner" and she too is a beautiful singer!. Garde bien Stewart Montgomerie

Here is a bit of help regarding John McLean and his wife Jessie. They are listed in the Stone Book as being buried in the cemetery on Pictou Island. As far as I know, there is only one cemetery on the island. It reads like this. John McLean (1837-1930) and his wife Jessie (1845-1916). I could find nothing on Mary belle McLean, but perhaps she was the last of the family to be buried there and there was no one left to have her name added to the family stone. Don't be misled by the "Mc" instead of the "Mac". Back in those days they were all "Mc's". Robert M.
