Could the place names be Lorne or Lorneville and Elgin, New Brunswick, rather than Nova Scotia? We have a connection but I am rather rushed right now so will have to look up some things later. You have not found, by any chance, a Cartwright connection, have you? My g grandmother was Mary Cartwright but I do not know her maiden name. Her father was Peter Cartwright and when Mary's mother died, he remarried one of the Morrills from the River John area. When the step-mother died, she was taken in by a couple other Morrills to live. I know that the Morrills had a large stove foundry at Brule and everyone who got married, received a stove. I know the location of that foundry. Mr. MacDonald in the liquor store in River John knows a lot about the area and its people and he gave me photocopied articles about the foundry and family. Some of the Morrills went to the US to live and then came back. One was Lucy and her brother. They bought land in Caribou, Pictou County and I remember as a young girl my mother taking me to meet them. They were trying to farm and knew nothing about it. They donated the land for the church and school in that area. One of the Morrows married a Hingley from the Trenton area. There are Morrills buried on the road to Cape John outside of River John. Will see what I can dig up if interested. Dear Bill: This death certificate is here on the new Archives site- Year 1953- Book 1953-Page 1652. He died after falling and fracturing his hip. He was a resident of the okld Pictou County Home which was a "forerunner" of homes for seniors- used to visit there every year wiith Brownies and Guides at Christmas. My mom was the leader and she took us there to perform our Christmas Candlelight Service for the guests. It says he was a retired storekeeper - a confectionary store- and the death certificate was signed by his niece Jean M. Mac leod- who I am assuming was one of my former teachers in town. His father was born in centredale here in Pictou County. The funeral director who was in charge is still here in town- so if you need anything more I could always see what he remembers. Good luck! Diane Hayman Westville, N.S.

Dear List, A relative of mine, Adele Musick, from P.E.I. married Leith Reynolds of New Glasgow and lived there at 489 Pleasant Street. He died in 1951, and she died in 1967, both buried in Lorne Street Cemetery. I believe they had a daughter, Elizabeth, married to John Daniel Mahoney. He died in 1994 and she died in 1999, and they are buried with her parents in Lorne Street Cemetery. Does anyone on the list remember these people or know of any family members that might still be around? I would like to contact them. I don't know whether the Reynolds had any other children besides Elizabeth, and I don't know whether Elizabeth had any family. Any help or suggestions will be much appreciated. Thank you, George Sanborn Charlottetown, P.E.I.
