Hi listers I am wondering if someone could point me in the right direction please. I'm trying to find information about a family who lived in Pictou. I have Edward Frank Graves Kirkwood (Dr) who married Kate Whitefield (date unknown) in the 1838 Pictou township census. They had by the census 2 sons - I have Henry Kirkwood (Dr), but don't know who the other son was. I have no other information about Edward or his wife. Henry Kirkwood married Margaret Hockin in June 1861 in Pictou (as per son, Archibald's birth) - actual date hasn't been found yet. Henry Kirkwood remarried 2.7.1883 to Catherine Kirkpatrick in Picton, Nova Scotia. Henry left Pictou to come to Australia c1886 (ship or date not known) - he died shortly after arriving in Victoria, Australia & before his family could join him. His 2nd wife & 3 of his children came to Australia aboard the Leopold Von Vangeron. My problem is where do I look for the births of all 7 children - have only found one (Archibald) on the Nova Scotia Vital Statistics site. Where would I find the death for Margaret - again not found in the Vital Statistic site. Thanking you for your time regards Paula South Australia

I believe that JAMES died is buried at Black Point,Dec 5 1851 and his wife MARY died and is buried there as well March 25 1866. I also believe that they had one daughter named ANNIE REID born Mar 15 1815,place not know. ANNIE was alive in the 1901 cenus and gone by the 1911 census. Not sure what name she died with...either REID (maiden name)..ELLIOT (1st marr name)..McDONALD (2nd married name). Any additons or corrections appreciated. To Kate Ross and others, My great great great grandfather John McNabb a weaver by trade and his wife Isobel (McDonald) McNabb came from Scotland in 1817 and settled on McLelland's/McLennan's Mountain on the east branch of the East River. John and Isobel were 47 years of age at that time. They brought with them their five children Alexander, Mary, James,Janet and Isobel. I have wondered since I found out my ggggrandmother's maiden name was McDonald if they went there because she was related to some of the many McDonalds already there. John and my great great grandfather Alexander (Alex) McNabb (later of River John) both received land grants on the mountain and down by the river. As much as I know about Kenneth, he was born in Nov., 1820 at McLennan's Brook. He married Nancy Della Pearson (b Dec., 1835 in Truro, N.S.) in July of 1857. They had 2 sons: Thomas Alexander Fraser (b. Oct. 1861 in Truro) and Peter Thomas in 1867. Peter died young with no children. It appears that Kenneth moved to Truro after he married Nancy because their children were born there. They moved to Manitoba later in life and both died there. I know that Kenneth's obituary was in a local Pictou newspaper and >verified that that is where he was born. I can not find ANY record of his birth, siblings or parents. It's like he fell from the sky. I have even gone there myself to try and find something/anything. I ended up finding all of Nancy's family, but not Kenneth. Hi, I've been watching the MacIntosh messages and wondering if there is a connection to the people in my tree with this name. I have a James MacIntosh married to Blanch Pushee around the turn of the century. They have 3 children, Isabel, John and Marion. Isabel married my Great Uncle Levi Oscar Swantee. Could anyone tell me if there is a connection? I do not know who James parents are.
