I descend from Donald's brother Alexander I have an extensive gedcom file on the McLeans Any info on a John McLean born about 1812 in Nova Scotia. He married Sarah Christie in Port Saxton on 2/19/1859. I have information on both families from that date forward. I just have no information on John, except that he was possibly the youngest of 12 children. That put his family back into the late 1700s Thank you Pam ************************************** See what's free at http://www.aol.com.

Death date is not my Hugh as the family were back in Scotland by 1881 and Hugh was with them on the census. I think they might have still been in Nova Scotia in 1871 but do not have access to that census. Thanks for the marriage date. Thank you. Those were nice pictures of the wedding party. I would loved to have seen Jude refusing to go down the isle - I bet his mother was upset. Sorry that I didn't let you know that I had received them sooner, but we were in Newfoundland to see the big "ice cubes". And they were big. We had never seen them before and when we heard that there were quite a few this year we just said "let's go" Saw an early humpback whale so that was a bonus on our trip out on the water and then we saw 60 moose - so it was a very good trip. Hugh McLean's father may have been Alexander McLean as I am not sure of this. Hugh was born about 1806. Hugh and Ann McLean had two sons that I know about. Daniel Alexander McLean born 1840 and James Donley McLean born 1848. Both born in the East River area of Pictou. Thanks. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. I just wanted to thank everyone who helped me to find the family of Eric Armstrong. If it wasn't for all of you (and listers from the NS list) I wouldn't have any of the information that I have today. The obituary provided information that there was a link to Ontario and I've since found details of Eric's grandaughter living in Ontario. I've written (snailmail) to her and I'm waiting for a reply. Hopefully, some of you might have read my letter to the editor of the The Advocate which was published on Wednesday 27th June. Thanks again. Regards, Jill <[email protected]>
