My ancestor was believed to have been a Corporal with the 82nd. The 82nd was raised in Lanarkshire Scotland in 1778 and arrived in New York in 1779. They took part in several battles and disbanded in Halifax in 1784. On the Pictou grant there is a Thomas LOGGIN --it is suspected that this is LOBAN but the link is yet to be proven. LOBAN eventually settled in Northumberland County NB. It seems likely that Loban and Loggan are one in the same and that he sold or abandoned the grant and returned to Halifax moving from there to New Brunswick. A quick check of the online land petitions for NB did turn up a William ROBERTSON dated 1812--I of course have no way of knowing if this could be your fellow. Are you related to the Hamilton's of the Hamilton Mill in Pictou County? I wasn't paying much attention but just noticed the name Hamilton. I had blankets from that mill that I gave to a friend as she is related. If you are the same family, I could contact her for you. But would you have any dates or details of the Duke of Hamilton's regiment being in Pictou? Which Duke of Hamilton? Where and when was the regiment mustered? I'm considering the possibility that some of its manpower was drawn from Hamilton estates in the north-west of Ireland ..... which would explain how strands of my family came to the Northumberland Strait in N. I found the following information from the Ship's List. 1817 is the year. I am looking for passenger lists for these two ships. The two ships then went onto Pictou. Any help would be appreciated. Bonnie Davies Sydney Scots: PANS, Vol. 329, Doc. 109 July 23 Hope - Greenock 161 passengers July 25 William Tell Greenock 221 passengers Acadian Recorder Aug. 2 "A ship and a brig" arrived at Sydney with "400 passengers, from the Orkney Islands." (this ship and brig no doubt were the Hope and William Tell, before mentioned). Another ship with 250 passengers was expected at Sydney from the same place. Canso Scots: Colin S. MacDonald, op. cit. p.45 "Ship William Tell came out to Canso, NS with settlers from Barra" in 1817 --------------------------------- Pinpoint customers who are looking for what you sell.

Andrew, Good to see you back on the list after all this time. The only thing I can add is Jerusha married William Arnold and she died in RI. There is a lady in RI who gave me that information and if you contact me off the list , I'll give you her address as I think she can add to what you are looking for. I never found anymore out about my Mary Ann Munro since we talked. Ben and Barb: I thought: 1. DAVID MCINTOSH married CHRISTY CHISHOLM. 2. DUNCAN MCINTOSH married MARY CHISHOLM. She later married RONALD MACQUARRIE. 3. DONALD MCINTOSH married ANNE FALCONER. 4. HUGH MCINTOSH married ISABEL CHISHOLM. The above CHISHOLM women are daughters of JAMES CHISHOLM and MARTHA MARJORY. The above MCINTOSH men are sons of CHARLES MCINTOSH and ISABELLA ROSS Christy and her other sister, Ann Chisholm, were the daughters of James Chisholm and Martha Marjory who arrived in Pictou in September1801 onboard the Sarah from Fort WIlliam, Scotland. This was the same ship taken by my 4G Grandparents: William MacKenzie and Flora MacMillan. This information is also recorded on page 32 of the book "Sunny Brae" by Judge Clyde MacDonald. He mentions Ann and Christy Chisholm (twins) as the daughters of James and Martha Chisholm who arrived in Pictou on the Sarah of Liverpool in 1801. James was known as James Chisholm, Blacksmith.
