Ryan, if you have a full version of Adobe Acobrat and you dowload the page. Then in adobe under tools there is a select "typewriter" which when selected allows you to type on the page. Hope this helps. Also go to Google and type in pdf to .doc and there are load of selections you can check through. Charlotte, The owner was one of my Great Uncles, though I do not believe it is run by family anymore. I remember seeing it when I went to visit back in 1968. We had a good laugh as my father owned a Swantee's Auto Body in Westboro, MA. I still live in MA, Dad and one of my brothers lives in Connecticut and the other brother lives in Arizona. There are still quite a few Swantee's in Canada too. I have been in touch with a few. Marsha, Thanks for your help on the McGregors. I'm trying to tie this family into John McGregor, born 1851 in Sutherland's River, who married Lydia Catherine McRae of Glengarry on 9 Feb 1878 in New Glasgow. The marriage info says he was the son of Alexander and Isabelle McGregor. So far I don't think I have anything concrete but I'm still trying. By 1881 John and Lydia were in Newdale, Manitoba and eventually most of the family ended up in British Columbia. Any more help very much appreciated. Peter
Hi, On the first question, the most foolproof method is to purchase a copy of Adobe Acrobat (as opposed to Adobe reader, which is the free version). Unfortunately, because it is an Adobe product, it's fairly expensive. (http://www.adobe.com) The other option could be to create your own document with the same format and then turn it into a .pdf. The license for this is also through Adobe, but you can purchase a license for a month at a time for $9.99. (http://createpdf.adobe.com/) There are other apps that allow you to convert between formats (ex: http://www.pdfonline.com/) but I haven't used them and can't validate how well they would work. Good luck!
