Ruby Doris Beck 2004 Hlifax Chronicle Herald Ruby Doris Beck, 81, Newcombville, passed away August 30, 2004, at home. Born on July 16, 1923, in Baker Settlement, she was a daughter of the late Amos and Etta (Rhodenizer) Wentzell. She worked at Sperry's Restaurant, New Germany; Creaser's Factory, LaHave; and Graves Canning Factory, Berwick. Later in life, she did housework for several people. She is survived by her brother, Cyril (Esther) Wentzell, Baker Settlement; her sister, Eudie Ritcey, Upper Branch; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Cecil; sister, Margaret Wile; brothers, Nahmen, Roderick, Everett, and Harris in infancy. Visitation will be today from 7-9 p.m. in Sweeny's Funeral Home, Bridgewater, where funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, Rev. Pat Gow officiating. Burial will follow in Baker Settlement Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or Baker Settlement Cemetery Fund.
