    3. OBIT # 5207 - PICTOU ADVOCATE - 21 OCT 1927: The death of MR.MURDOCK K. INNES occured at the Pictou Cottage Hospital on Tuesday afternoon, October 18, at the age of 59 years. Mr.Innes underwent a serious operation in Cottage Hospital some time ago, and recovered sufficiently to permit his removal to his home. Last week, however, he was compelled to re-enter the hospital and it was then discovered that nothing furthur could be done for him and he passed away about 3:30pm. on Tuesday afternoon. Mr.INNES was born at Four Mile Brook, Pictou County, and came to Pictou when a young man. He was employed for a number of years with Mr.HUGH HENDERSON, contractor and builder, and after that with the firm of D.FULLARTON & SON. He was a first class carpenter, one of the best the town has ever had, and an excellent citizen. He had many friends and no enemies, and his death is regretted by the whole community. Mr.INNES, is survived by his wife and two daughters, Mrs.EV CRITTENDEN and Miss ETHEL INNES, both at home, the latter having given up her school at Rocklin on account of her father's serious illness. The funeral was held on Thursday afternoon and was largely attended. Service at his late home on the Old Road was conducted by Rev.John W. Emslie of the Kirk. The Kirk choir, with the organist, Miss Eva Skinner, was present to lead the singing of favorite hymns, and Mrs.E.Malcolm MacDonald and Mr.J.A. Adamson sang feelingly a duet,"Breathe On Me Breath Of God". Following the service in Pictou the remains were taken to Four Mile Brook for interment, the ceremony at the graveside conducted by Mr.Emslie.
