William E. Durland 1955 Bridgewater Bulletin The death of William Enock Durland, one of the most esteemed residents in the community, occurred at his home in Colpton, December 7th., after a lengthy illness, which he bore very patiently. He was the son of the late Enock and Lucy Cole Durland, born at Simpson's Corner 65 years ago. Mr. Durland was a devoted member of the United Church of Canada and served as elder for a number of years. He leaves to mourn their loss, a sorrowing wife, the former Mrs. Nina Wayne; also two sisters, Flora (Mrs. George Fancy), Colpton; Hilda (Mrs. Wallace Wagner), Simpson's Corner; one brother, Havelock, Torbrook; another sister, Hazel, predeceased him several years ago. Funeral service was held at the Union Church, Hemford, conducted by his pastor, Rev. J.E. Forbes. Interment in Brookside Cemetery, Bridgewater.
