Frank William Schnare 2003 Halifax Chronicle Herald Frank William Schnare, 77, New Germany, died August 29, 2003, in the VG Site, QEII. Born at Upper Kingsburg, he was a son of the late Theophilus and Ellen (Naas) Schnare. He was a Chief Officer with U.S. Gypsum for 30 years, sailing out of Hantsport to the Eastern Seaboard and parts of South America. He encouraged many future mariners during his career. He was a member of the New Germany Craft Association and Rosedale Seniors Club. He is survived by his wife, the former Joyce (Brinton) Hamilton-Schnare; daughter, Alta (Mike) Belajac, Barss Corner; sons, David (Debbie) Nineveh; Leonard (Donna) DesJardins-Schnare, Bridgetown; Ralph (Peggy), Barss Corner; sister, May Wamback, East LaHave; grandchildren, Shauna, Savanna, Courtney, Jillian, Innikki, Flynt, Drake, Minday, Natasha; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his first wife, Mabel Brittain; sisters, Elsie and Grace. Visitation 7-9 p.m. today in Warren T. Roop Funeral Home, Middleton. Memorial service 1 p.m. Wednesday in Bridgewater Baptist Church, Rev. Tom Harvey and Rev. Norman Hovland officiating. A reception will be held following the service. Interment in Pleasant River Cemetery. Family flowers only. Donations may be made to Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of your choice.
