OBIT # 5079 - EASTERN CHRONICLE - 29 NOVEMBER 1910 On Saturday morning the body of RANALD McPHERSON, an aged man of probably sixty years, was found floating in the river just below the tram bridge. Coroner Kennedy summoned a jury, which met at Ross's undertaking rooms and reached a verdict that it was a case of suicide, the deceased man's mind being temporarily deranged while under the influence of liquor. He had been a resident of the town for a number of years and was well known, having always worked at the Steel Works. As a distinction from others of the same name he was known as "blind" RANALD. He had recent family difficulties.
