Asbury Sabin Height 2004 Halifax Chronicle Herald Asbury Sabin Height, 92, Dayspring, passed away August 31, 2004, in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born August 5, 1912, in South Range, Digby County, he was a son of the late Frank and Cora Height. He came to Dayspring in 1930 after marrying Doris in Wolfville. He worked at Bolivar Sawmill, Leary's Shipyard, and also with the CN Railway before joining Acadia Construction, where he was employed until his retirement in 1972, at which time he was superintendent. He belonged to the I.O.O.F. Lodge in Upper LaHave. He curled for many years in Bridgewater. He is survived by his son, Ralph (Dorothy) Height, Dartmouth; daughters, Agnes (Philip) Crouse, Dayspring; Carolyn (Oliver Jr. ) Levy, Lunenburg; Dawn (Frank) Zwicker, Dayspring; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; brother, Carl (Jessie) Height; sisters, Ida Murphy and Hazel (Lawrence) Savory, all of Onario. He was predeceased by his first wife, of 64 years, Doris Rhodenizer; and second wife, Mary Carver Judge; brothers, Austin, Fulton; sister, Rena; half-brother, Hugh, half-sister, Lila. Visitation will be held today from 7-9 p.m. in Sweeny's Funeral Home, Bridgewater, where funeral service will be held 1:30 p.m. Friday, Rev. Pat Gow officiating. Interment will follow in Dayspring Cemetery. Immediate family flowers only. Memorial donations may be made to Dayspring Cemetery or a charity of choice.
