    3. UNKNOWN PAPER - OCTOBER 1983 RUSSELL MINGO - The Falls - The funeral of the late Russell MINGO was held at The Falls United Church, Sept. 30, at 2 p.m. Rev. Morley BENTLEY officiating. Two favorite hymns, "Amazing Grace", was sung by Doug FERGUSON, and "Precious Memories" by Janice JOLLYMORE. Russell was born in Keeble, Col. Co., in the year 1906, eldest son of the late Owen and Edith TATTRIE MINGO. He was a resident of The Falls for the past 53 years. He was employed with the Nova Scotia Light and Power Co. until his retirement in 1971. Predeceased by his parents and two brothers, he is survived by his wife, the former Olive MARSHALL; two sons, Kenneth, Camrose, and Keith, The Falls; two sisters (Hazel) Mrs. Lloyd WEATHERBY, and (Reta) Mrs. Otis MacKINNON; one brother Clair, Tatamagouche; four grandchildren, one great-grandson, several nieces and nephews. Russell was a past Master of Keystone Lodge No. 102, A.F. & A.M., a member of Atlantic Chapter No. 65, O.E.S., a member of The Trinity United Church, The Falls, where he served for a number of years as Elder. Pallbearers were Duncan WEATHERBY, Freeman LANGILLE, Sterling MATHESON, Cecil BLENKHORN, Markus ESTERBROOK and Stears MacRAE. Honorary Pallbearers were Fraser MURRAY, (...)llie CAMERON, Dan MacKAY, Robby WILSON, Alex DWYER and Aubrey MATTATALL. The Masons were flower bearers. Burial was in The Falls cemetery, with Jack COULTER as Funeral Director. Following the service the mourners met with relatives and friends at the Mingo home, where the ladies of the church served lunch with tea and coffee. The flowers, memorials to the church, Lillian Fraser Memorial Hospital, Cancer Fund, Willow Lodge showed the esteem in which Russell was held.
