    3. OBIT # 5182 - EASTERN CHRONICLE - JANUARY 8, 1948 MRS CATHERINE MUNROE, relict of the late WILLIAM MUNROE, Foxbrook, passed to her eternal rest after several years of ill health on the 15th of Dec.1947. During the past year she suffered very much and the nature of her trouble made her most uncomfortable but she received all the attention possible by members of her family, especially her daughter, ISABEL (Mrs.Don Fraser) , with whom she made her home. A number of years ago she left the farm where her three daughters were born and she lived there until they were married. Now they are bereft of a loving mother who was so mindful of their needs during their childhood years, and all the more so because she had all the care herself, for her husband predeceased her quite a long time ago, having met a tragic end by drowning. But through it all she was patient in trials that oftimes were hard to bear, nevertheless her faith in God did not lessen nor grow dim and attended upon the the means of grace when it was possible to do so. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Hopewell, and was strongly devoted to it. She was born at Blanchard Road, 83 years ago, the only daughter of the late Mr.and Mrs.JOHN FRASER. She had one brother, JOHN A., long since deceased. After her mother's death she went to live with a neighbour, another Mr.and Mrs.John Fraser and stayed with them during her school days. After she finished school, she came to work in the old woolen mills at Eureka and worked there until her marriage. Her immediate family who feel the great loss they have sustained are, HAZEL (Mrs.William McGee); RITA (Mrs.James MacDonald), Windsor, and ISABEL (Mrs.Don Fraser). To these members of the family and all other connections we extend our sympathy. The funeral was held on Wednesday afternoon from the home of Mr. Don Fraser and was conducted by Rev.Donald MacKay, who spoke of her Christian qualities which were evident throughout her long lifeFor those who knew her best, loved her most and now we say adieu Mother and friend until we meet again.
