Donald Harris Haughn 1988 Donald Harris Haughn, 56, 119 Lawrence Street, Lunenburg, died Wednesday, March 9, 1988, at sea aboard the CGS Cygnus III Fisheries Patrol boat. Born at First South, he was a son of the late Harris and Mary (Mason) Haughn. His career at sea began as a steward on the CGS Cygnus I and other fisheries patrol boats and later with Bowater Mersey Paper Co. Ltd. After several years he started his marine engineering career on the gypsum boats and later on the Coast Guard ships. At the time of his death, he was employed as Chief Engineer aboard the CGS Cygnus III. He was a member of Central United Church, Lunenburg. He is survived by his wife, the former Patricia Corkum; a daughter, Valerie, Bridgewater; two sisters, Madelyn (Mrs. Perley Lohnes), First South; Mrs. Marion Allen, Bridgewater. He was predeceased by a sister, Thelma. The body rested at Sweeny's Funeral Home, Lunenburg. Funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 12 in Central United Church, Lunenburg, officiated by Rev.Don MacPherson. Burial in Hillcrest Cemetery, Lunenburg. Pallbearers were Earl Bachman, Aubrey Burns, Gary Dares, Eric Himmelman , Bill Woundy, and Wally Zinck.
