Ruth Evelyn Garber 2003 Halifax Chronicle Herald Ruth Evelyn Garber, 80, Conquerall Mills, passed away Tuesday, August 5, 2003, in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born at River Hebert, she was the daughter of the late Rufus and Margaret (Stewart) Gates. She owned and operated the Stay-Curl Beauty Shop in Bridgewater until her retirement in 1985. Surviving are her daughter, Krista Garber and her husband, Sam Brushett, St. Augustine, Florida; niece, Lynne (Bob) Devine, Kentville; nephew, Allen Gates, Abbottsford, B.C., and many caring friends. She was predeceasd by her husband, Donald Perry Garber and brother, Walter Gates. In keeping with Ruth's wishes, there will be no vsitation in the funeral home by request. Funeral 11 a.m. Friday in Sweeny's Funeral Chapel, Bridgewater, Rev. Willis Ott officiating. No flowers by request. Donations to Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or a charity of your choice.
