Idella Irene Langille 2001 Halifax Chronicle Herald Idella Irene Langille, 85, of Blockhouse, died Monday, March 26, 2001, in Harbour View Haven Home for Special Care, Lunenburg. Born at Parkdale, she was a daughter of the late Frederick and Letitia (Veinotte) Spidle. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was a member of the United Baptist Church, Mahone Bay, where she was also a member of the Ladies Aid, serving as president for thirty years. She was a member of the Women's Institute, Blockhouse and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Blockhouse Fire Department for many years. She belonged to TOPS for 26 years. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Ivan; daughter, Yvonne and husband Wallace Wilkie, Blockhouse; son, Darren and wife Brenda, Blockhouse; foster daughter, Mae and husband Garth Brown, Dartmouth; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by infant son, Douglas; two sisters, Emma and Annie; brothers, Lawrence, Robert, Russel, Charles, Kenneth, and Howard. Visiting 7-9 p.m. this evening in Mahone Funeral Home, Mahone Bay. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday in the United Baptist Church, Mahone Bay, Pastor Aaron Kenny officiating. Burial will follow in Old Blockhouse, Garden of Rest Cemetery, Blockhouse. Family flowers only.
