Horace Edgar Allan Norman 2003 Halifax Chronicle Herald Horace Edgar Allan Norman, Bridgewater , passed away May 7, 2003, in Camp Hill Veterans Memorial Building, QEII, Halifax, following a lengthy illness. Born at Hampton, New Brunswick, November 4, 1917, he was a son of the late William Allan and Lillian Evelyn (Gould) Norman. He was a veteran of the Second World War, serving overseas as Staff Sergeant with the 3rd. Anti-tank Regiment in England, France, Belgium, Holland, and Germany. He was employed with Maritime Telegraph and Telephone Company Limited for 33 years, retiring in 1981. He was a member of Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Bridgewater, life member of Telephone Pioneers, 3rd. Anti-tank Regiment Association and Lunenburg County Veterans Association. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Mary (Spinney); son, Brian, Thailand; grandchildren, Bruce, Angela, Cherie (Jollimore), and Brina; great-granddaughter, Erin, all of Halifax; brother, Maurice, Long Point, New Brunswick. He was predeceased by his first wife, Audrey Gibson; son, Roderick; sisters, Beatrice and Ileana. Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. Sunday in Sweeny's Funeral Home, Bridgewater. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Monday in Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Bridgewater, Archdeacon John Clarke officiating. Burial will follow at 3 p.m. in St. John's Cemetery, Halifax. Family flowers only. Donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia, Victorian Order of Nurses, Lunenburg County Branch, or a charity of your choice.
