Rev. Gordon Lindsay Gower 1998 Halifax Chronicle Herald Rev. Gordon Lindsay Gower, 86, Windsor Elms, died August 18, 1998, in the home. Born October 28, 1911, he was a son of Charles and Edna (Bailey) Gower. He was a graduate of the Provincial Normal College. He taught school for six years, then attended Acadia Divinity College. After graduating, he ministered in various Baptist churches throughout Nova Scotia and Newfoundland for over forty years. His last years of ministry were in Hantsport and Mount Denson Baptist churches. Rev. Gower had been chairman of the Convention Christian Education and Overseas Missions boards. He served as modertor of several Baptist associations and president of several ministerial institutes. He served both the Masonic and Oddfellows Lodges as grand chaplain for a number of years. Surviving are his chosen daughter, Janet (Mrs. Glen Atwood), Yarmouth; grandchildren, Phillip, Peter, Mark, and Karen; great-grandchildren, Kayla ,Kacey; sisters, Nina Blanche Gower and Lois May Gower, both of Windsor Elms. He was predeceased by his wife, Mary Blanche Gower. Visitation 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today in Lohnes-Beazley Funeral Home, Windsor. Funeral 2 p.m. Friday, August 21, in Hantsport United Baptist Church, Rev.
