OBIT # 5069 - EASTERN CHRONICLE - 26 AUGUST 1935 Mrs. L. H. BETTS-The death occured in Wallace on Sunday evening, at the age of 83 years, of ANNIE MacKAY BETTS, widow of the late L.H.BETTS of that place. Mrs.Betts, while ailing for the past year, was visiting her daughter, Mrs. A.E. MacKENZIE here for three weeks, returning to her home last Friday, and passing peacefully away on Sunday. Mrs.BETTS was born and married in Wallace, and lived all her life there, where she was loved and respected. Wherever she went she made friends, who will grieve at her death. She was a fine type of woman with splendid characteristics devoted to her church, her family and her friends. She will be much missed in those circles in which she was a beloved member. She leaves to mourn the passing of a dear and devoted mother, two daughters, ANNIE,Mrs.E.S. MacKENZIE, of New Glasgow and MARGARET, at home and five sons, NORMAN and ALEXANDER at home; DONALD and Capt. ROLAND in Montreal, and WALLACE in Halifax.The funeral will be held at the home of the deceased in Wallace.
