    3. Allan Ritcey Handwritten date: November 14, 1944. Riverport, November 15- Shortly after midnight on Monday the passing of Allan Ritcey, 57, eldest son of Mrs. Ritcey and the late Captain Ammon Ritcey, occurred at his home after an illness extending over a period of three years. The late Mr. Ritcey was a follower of the sea for the greater part of his life, serving in the capacity of steward on fishing and coastal vessels. Some three years ago, he was stricken with a heart condition and during the intervening years he has had many attacks. He spent several months of the past summer as a patient at the V.G. Hospital, Halifax. He is survived by his mother; three sisters, Geneva, Mrs. Lennox Conrad, Rose Bay, Guelph, Ontario; and Clyde, electrician and lineman, at home. His father, the late Captain Ammon Ritcey, died suddenly at sea in 1917 and a sister, Amy, died the following year. Another sister, Olive, passed away a few years ago. He was a member of Trinity United Church and of Confidence Lodge, I.O.O.F., and his funeral was held this afternoon from his late home and was conducted by his pastor, Rev. W.K. Pace. The members of Confidence Lodge attended in a body and performed their last rites at the graveside. Interment was made in the Harbour View Cemetery at Rose Bay. (The obituary stated three sisters but only listed one living sister.)
