Kenneth Wayne Norwood 2007 Halifax Chronicle Herald Kenneth Wayne Norwood, 56, West Clifford, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, October 28, 2007, with his family at his side. Born on December 5, 1950, he was a son of the late Warren and Myrtle (Dollivar) Norwood. He owned and operated Ken Norwood Auto Repair for 30 years, having attended Kingstec Community College where he received his certification. He was a member of the Baker Settlement and District Fire Department for 32 years, having reached the position of fire chief. He was a member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church, Baker Settlement and president of Baker Settlement Cemetery. He was president of Nova Scotia Drag Racers Association where he was fondly known as "The Professor." He is survived by his wife of 36 years, the former Betty Ann Selig; sons, Trevor Warren, West Clifford; (Carol-Ann), Hebb's Cross); Scott Thomas (Beth Ann), Pinegrove; brother, Mervyn Earl (Joyce), Halifax; grandchildren, Jordan, MacKenzie, Madison, Hope; numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brother, Donald Caroll. Cremation has taken place under the direction of R.A. Corkum Funeral Home, Wileville. There will be no visitation in the funeral home. A graveside memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday in Baker Settlement Cemetery, Bruce Barkhouse officiating. Family flowers only. Memorial donations may be made to the IWK Neonatal Unit.
