R. Ray Wentzell 1927 Bridgewater Bulletin The little village of Upper Northfield was greatly shocked and saddened on May 16th., when word was received by telegram that Ray, only son of Mr. and Mrs. William O. Wentzell was drowned while stream-driving for Brown and Company, Berlin, New Hampshire. Ray was only 20 years and 10 months of age. He was a bright active young man and was liked by all who knew him. The body arrived home on Wednesday night, accompanied by Mr. Sidney Carver who was employed by the same company when the sad event took place. The funeral was held on Thursday and was very largely attended. Services were conducted by Rev. Grant, assisted by Rev. Beck of the United Church of Canada. Mr. Grant spoke in words of comfort from St. John, chapter 11, verses 25-26. The sympathy of the whole commuity is extended to the sorrowing mother, father, and only sister, Ruth.
