Curtis Chesley Boutilier 1998 Halifax Chronicle Herald Curtis Chesley Boutilier, 90, Truro, formerly of Valley Crossroads, died April 23, 1998, in Truro. Born at Fox Point, Lunenburg County, he was a son of the late Lemuel and Jane (Coolen) Boutilier. He was a cook all of his working life, in lumber camps, construction and retired from the CNR, when he moved to Valley Crossroads. He enjoyed, until recently, his hobby of having a few hens. He was also a charter member of the Valley-Kemptown Fire Brigade from which he retired at the time of his death. He was a member of Valley United Church and served on a number of committees over the years. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Surviving are his wife, Muriel H. (Hamblen) Boutilier, Truro; daughter, Mrs. Carrie Mason, Hamilton, Ontario; son, Rev. Chesley Boutilier and wife Linda, Mount Stewart, P.E.I.; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two nieces; two nephews. He was predeceased by his son-in-law, Dave Mason; grandson, Robbie Mason; brother, Leaman; sisters, Addie, Belle, Ivy, Carrie. The Valley-Kemptown Fire Brigade will conduct a tribute service 6:45 p.m. this evening visitation 2-4, 7-9 p.m. this evening, both in Mattatall Funeral Home, Truro. Funeral service 2 p.m. Saturday in Valley United Church, Valley, Rev. Curtis McDonald and Rev. Chesley Boutilier officiating. Burial in Crossroads Cemetery, Valley.
