Mrs. Cordelia Leah Baker 1953 Bridgewater Bulletin Mrs. Cordelia Leah Baker passed away early Monday morning, January 26th., at her late residence in New Cumberland. Mrs. Baker was in failing health for some time but her death was unexpected. She was the widow of Levi Baker, who passed away in March, 1952. She was tenderly cared for by her son, Vincent and wife Coral with whom she resided. She was the daughter of the late Stephen and Abigail Conrad, Mount Pleasant and was 74 years of age. Left to mourn their loss are eight children, Vincent, at home; Osbert, of the United States; Inez (Mrs. Firman Lohnes) of Pleasantville; Stanford, West LaHave; Buton, Midville Branch; Queenie (Mrs. Aubrey Meisner), Lake Centre; Elvin, Toronto; and Reta of LaHave. There are also three brothers and four sisters, Steven and Bernard, Mount Pleasant; Lorenza and Stella of the United States; Phoebe (Mrs. Howard Himmelman), Mount Pleasant; Nellie, Pleasantville; and Edna, Italy Cross. Twenty-two grandchildren and one great-grandchild also survive. After a brief service at the home at 2 p.m., Thursday, the funeral cortege proceeded to the United Church at Mount Pleasant with burial in the family lot at New Cumberland, Rev. Mr. Elliott officiating.
