UNKNOWN PAPER - 1 AUGUST 1946 HAVELOCK MACNUTT - One of the most largely attended funeral services ever held in Tatamagouche Mountain was that of the late Havelock MacNUTT from his late home on Sunday, July 28. He was 67 years of age. Rev. George WHIDDEN of Tatamagouche officiated. He spoke beautifully of Heaven and our future life there if we carried on our work as faithfully as had Mr. MacNUTT in his sogoun of earth. He had learned to live here on earth peacefully and faithfully to wife and family and his church and community. To all its organizations he gave unabtrusive leadership and splendid assistance. The beautiful floral offerings testified to the large circle of friends and acquaintances. He was one of a large family of the late Mr. and Mrs. William McNUTT, of whom there were four brothers and sisters. Mrs. Robt. AITCHESON, Mrs. C.J. COCK, and Mr. Rufus McNUTT are the only surviving members. Those who passed soon were Mrs. Robt. KENNEDY, Mrs. Gavin BELL, Alexander and Rufus MacNUTT. In his immediate family, he leaves to mourn, his wife, Elizabeth MacLANDERS, three sons, Earle, George and Will and one daughter Mrs. Lloyd BLAIR, one son Alonzo and one daughter Mable predeceased him. There are two grandchildren, Terence and Colleen SUTHERLAND of Hamilton, Ont. The Tata. Mtn. Choir sang three beautiful hymns "Sweetly Resting", "Rock of Ages" and "The Home Over There." Pall bearers were John, Rob and Arthur McLANDERS, Sterling MacNUTT, David BELL, Arnold COCK, Lawrence KENNEDY. Interment was made at Tatamagouche Mountain Cemetery.
