UNKNOWN PAPER - 25 SEPTEMBER 1951 MRS. WILLIAM MANNING - Earltown - The death of Mrs. William MANNING occurred on Thursday, September 14, at the Victoria General Hospital, Halifax, after a long period of illness. Mrs. Manning was in her fifty-sixth year and was the daughter of George FERGUSON and the late Tena FERGUSON of Oxford. She was postmistress for East Earltown for some years. She will be greatly missed in her community as well as by a great number of friends and acquaintances throughout the county. She leaves to mourn her loss, her husband, three sons, Elmer, Bobby and Ralph, her father, George FERGUSON, one grandchild, Allan, and one brother, John G. FERGUSON. The funeral was held on Sunday, September 16, a short service from the house and continued from the Presbyterian Church at Earltown of which the deceased was a member. The funeral service was conducted by the Rev. Mr. WILLIAMS of Scotsburn. The hymns sung were, "The Lord is My Shepherd" "Garden of Prayer" "Abide With Me" and "Lead Kindly Light." The pall bearers were Dan McKAY, George LYNCH, John A. McKAY, Russel McKAY, Harold HIGGINS and Lewis ROODE.
