Vesta Verna Garrison 2000 Halifax Chronicle Herald Published: Thursday, January 13, 2000. Vesta Verna Garrison, 79, Hillsvale, Hants County, passed away January 12, 2000, in the QEII Health Sciences Centre. Born at Western Shore, she was a daughter of Muriel Sawler, Ontario and the late Marcus Sawler. She was a devoted wife and mother, who truly enjoyed caring for her family. She worked for a short time at Simpsons in Halifax. She was a member of the Church of the Holy Spirit in Lakkelands. She was also a member of the Jolly Jumpers Seniors in Mount Uniacke. She is survived by sisters, Mary and Elma, both in Ontario; son, Homer and his wife Beverly; daughter, Paulette and her husband Harland, all of Hillsvale; granddaughters, Corinne and her partner Doug, South Rawdon; Heather and her partner Chris, Centre Burlington; great-granddaughter, Alecia; great-grandsons, Brian, Evan, Dennis, and David; great great grandchildren, Brandon and Tracy. She was predeceased by her husband, Homer; brother, Ted. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held in Church of the Holy Spirit, Lakelands, Mount Uniacke, 2 p.m. Friday, Rev. Fred Rhymes officiating. Interment at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Church of the Holy Spirit, Lakelands. Arrangements entrusted to T.K. Barnard Funeral Home, Mount Uniacke.
