George Raymond Barnes 1997 Halifax Chronicle Herald George Raymond Barnes, 79, Riverport, died February 18, 1997, in Logan Health Care Centre, Weymouth, Mass. Born in Boston, he was a son of the late John and Annie (Reddy) Barnes. He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving in the Second World War. Surviving are sister, Helen Contini, Florida; several niece and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Eva Lyons; a son in infancy.
