    3. John Rogers Wamback 1949 Bridgewater Bulletin There passed away quite suddenly on June 13th., at 8 a.m., John Rogers Wamback at the age of 72. Although in failing health for the past year his death came as a severe shock to his family and friends. The deceased was born at Mount Pleasant but has been living with his daughter, Mrs. J.W. O'Brien for the past eight years. He was a follower of the sea for 40 years until retirement and for 15 years had held the office of councillor for the District of New Dublin and was a staunch member of Empire Lodge, No. 109, I.O.O.F., at Petite Riviere for47 years. He was an elder of LaHave United Church for many years. His wife predeceased him nine years ago. Surviving are four daughters, Vera, Mrs. C.A. Corkum, Worcester; Rhoda, Mrs. F.W. Nickerson, Lower Woods Harbour; Gertrude, Mrs. Karl Smith, Florence, Mrs. John O'Brien, both of LaHave; two sons, Theodore, Worcester; and Arthur, West Dublin; two sisters, Leah, Mrs. Sergius Wentzell, Eva, Mrs. Frank Tobin; and brother, Harold, all of Worcester. One brother, Archibald, predeceased him some years ago. The funeral was held at 3 p.m. from the LaHave United Church, Rev. T. Constable conducting the service. Favourite hymns of the deceaased were sung: "Will your Anchor Hold?", "Forever With the Lord," and "What A Friend we have in Jesus." Mrs. Lawrence Himmelman was organist. The members of the Empire Lodge, I.O.O.F. and municipal councillors attended the service in a body. Pall bearers were fellow Odd Fellows, Messrs. Charles Publicover, John Mossman, Jeffery Publicover, and Charles Zwicker. Interment was made in the family lot at New Cumberland.
