George William Langley 2000 Halifax Chronicle Herald Published: Thursday, January 20, 2000. >From the collection of Gwen Christie George William Langley, 80, Blandford, died peacefully at home, on January 19, 2000. Born at Montreal, he waas the son of the late William and May (Patterson) Langley. He served overseas in the Second World War for five years. He was member of and also a past chief and district chief of the Sons of Scotland in Montreal for many years, a member of the Oddfellows in Blandford for 16 years and was appointed provincial grand master in August, 1999, also a member of the Chester Legion. He is survived by his wife, the former Ada Mills; son, James, British Columbia; daughters, Carol (Mrs. Chris Reid), Catherine (Mrs. Larry Hodgson), both of Ontario; Margaret (Mrs. Arthur Gates), Blandford; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by two grandchildren; one great-grandson. Visitation 7-9 p.m. today; 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Friday in Ronald A. Walker Funeral Home, Hubbards. Funeral Saturday 2 p.m. from St. Barnabas Anglican Church, Blandford, Rev. Richard Walsh officiating. Burial in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Ted Langley Memory Fund c/o Health Sciences Centre, QEII.
