Mrs. John Bushen 1952 Bridgewater Bulletin There passed away suddenly at her home on Thursday, July 24th., Mrs. Lalia Bushen, wife of John Bushen of West Dublin, at the age of 61 years. Mrs. Bushen was the adopted daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Michael Romkey of Crescent Beach and is survived by her husband; one son, Byron and two grandchildren, Shirley and Melvin of this place. She was a member of St. John's Anglican Church, a faithful member of the Guild, and a member of Emerald Rebekah Lodge. The funeral service which was held on Saturday afternoon from St. Jonh's Church was largely attended and was conducted by Rev. Cunningham. The members of Emerald Lodge and Empire Lodge I.O.O.F. attended in a body and the sisters conducted their service at the graveside. The hymns sung were "Peace, Perfect Peace," "Blest Be the Tie that Binds," and "Now the Labourer's Task is O'er," favourites of the deceased. The pall bearers were Berlin Himmelman, Leo Croft, Elliot Corkum, and Eldred Publicover. The floral offerings were many and beautiful and bore silent tribute to the high esteem in which she was held in the community. Interment was in Bay View Cemetery.
