UNKNOWN PAPER - 17 FEBRUARY 1948 EMMELINE HARRIS - Tatamagouche Mountain - Mrs. Emmeline HARRIS passed peacefully away to her eternal home on February 10 following two weeks illness through which she was tenderly cared for, by her daughters Mrs. Harry MORSE of Taunton, Mass, and Miss Mattie T. HARRIS of Truro. Mrs. HARRIS was a very diligent and happy person, and led a busy, useful life, in all community affairs. She was foremost in the work of the Church and a great knitter, having knit a great many pairs of socks for Red Cross during two wars. Her heart was always with the Church, having been among those who were instrumental in the building of our Church in this community and a life long supporter. Her husband, Isaac HARRIS, predeceased her 50 years ago. She was the last surviving member of her family and was in the 90th year of her age. The funeral service was largely attended despite poor roads. Rev. E.F. COFFIN conducted the Service from her late home. Choir sang "The Lord's My Shepherd", "In the Sweet By and By". She is survived by her daughters and son, Robert HARRIS and three grand children. Floral tributes were beautiful. Pall bearers were Gordon and Elmon BAILEY, John and Andrew MacKAY, Walter and Aubrey TUCKER. Interment at Tatamagouche Memorial Cemetery.
