Maurice R. Bolivar 1973 Bridgewater Bulletin Published: Wednesday, February 21, 1973. The community of Baker Settlement was saddened to hear of the sudden passing of Maurice R. Bolivar on January 30, 1973. Although in poor health, his death came as a great shock to his family and friends. He was born in Baker Settlement, son of the late Purdy and Mabel Bolivar on August 10, 1912. He is survived by his wife, Hazel; four sons, Lawrence, Oakhill; David, Lakeside, Halifax County; Mervin, Toronto; and Ervin, at home; a daughter, Ann, Thompson, Manitoba; two brothers, Ralph, Carcoss, Yukon Territory; and Wilton, Baker Settlement; five sisters, Mildred, Mrs. Livingstone Bolivar, Wileville; Thelma, Mrs.Arthur Wold, Conn.; Edna, Mrs. Randolph Lewis, Caledonia; Flora, Mrs. Edward Shupe, South Brookfield; Lydia, Mrs. Murray Hirtle, Baker Settlement; and three grandchildren, Michael, Michelle, and Kevin Bolivar. Funeral service, which was largely attended, was held at St. Luke's Lutheran Church, Baker Settlement, on February 2, with Pastor John Nunns officiating. Burial was in the Baker Settlement Cemetery.
