    3. UNKNOWN PAPER - 1 NOVEMBER 1954 JANE W. WILSON - Oliver - The community was saddened on Monday October 25, to learn of the passing of a highly respected citizen. Mrs. Jane W. WILSON, widow of the late James Wm. Wilson, in her 84th year. Mrs. WILSON was born at Tatamagouche Mountain, Col. Co., on September 16, 1870, daughter of the late John C. COCK and Mary (CONKEY). A woman of fine Christian character, she was blessed with a loving family and many friends. A member of United Baptist Church, she was always active and interested in the missionary work. She was a charter member of "The Abbie Gray Missionary Society." She was also a life member of the Oliver United W.M.S. Until the time of her last illness, she took an interest in all community affairs, and was always willing to help in any worthwhile cause. Except for short visits in U.S.A. and Western Canada with her children, the deceased has been a life-long resident of New Annan. She leaves to mourn the loss of a kind loving mother, four daughters and six sons, Carrie (Mrs. Aubrey BYERS) of New Annan; Hazel, (Mrs. Wm. OLIVER) of Cowley, Alberta; Mary (Mrs. Wilfred NICHOLS) Truro; Jean (Mrs. Murray TEED) Wentworth; James, Pictou; Earl, Bert and Alexander, Rose Prairie, B.C.; Seldon, Aklavik, N.W.T.; and Hedley at home; twenty seven grandchildren; and one brother Bert COCK of Denmark. A short funeral service was held from her late residence on Wednesday, October 27, at 1:30 p.m. The cortege then moved to New Annan United Baptist Church. The service at 2 p.m. was conducted by Rev. A.E. TODD, Westchester, assisted by Rev. Ralph WAGNER, New Annan. Rev A.E. TODD gave a sympathetic message, and Rev. R. WAGNER read the scripture and led in prayer. Music was in charge of Mrs. Fred LANGILLE, assisted by Central New Annan choir. Hymns sung were, "In the Sweet Bye and Bye" at the house, "The Lord's My Shepherd," "The Beautiful Garden of Prayer' and a solo by Mrs. Aubrey Tucker, "Saved by Grace" at the church. At the graveside, "Meet Me There" was sung. Pallbearers were nephews, Henry STEVENSON, Aubrey WILSON, Kasson SWAN and Seldon SWAN. The floral tributes were beautiful, showing the esteem in which she was held by her friends and relatives. Interment was in Bell Gift Cemetery, beside her late husband, who predeceased her 15 years ago. Harry BONNYMAN, Tatamagouche, was funeral director. Six children and nine grandchildren were present at the funeral.
