    3. UNKNOWN PAPER - SEPTEMBER 1942 MATTHEW NELSON - There passed away on Sept. 23, an aged and much respected citizen Matthew NELSON, aged 88 years. Mr. NELSON was born and lived his life at New Truro Road, near Tatamagouche Village. His wife, formerly Olive LANGILLE, of New Annan, passed away twenty-four years ago, and soon after this he went to live with his daughter, Mrs. George TUCKER and Mr. TUCKER on a nearby farm. For about 18 years he has been in poor health and during the past year has been confined to his bed. Mr. NELSON was the second son in a family of seven boys and one girl. Of these two brothers and one sister survive. They are John, Tatamagouche, Daniel, and Mary, Mrs. EUREKA, both of Waterbury, Conn. Mr. NELSON's family, a son and two daughters, also survive. They are, Nora, Mrs. George TUCKER, with whom he lived during his illness, and who nursed him with great devotion, Beatrice, Mrs. Calvin MacNUTT, North River and Ira of Amherst. Also several grandchildren, two of whom are with the Canadian Army overseas. The funeral on Friday was largely attended. His pastor, Rev. W.H. DAVIS, conducted the service and was assisted by members of Sharon United Church Choir. Miss Greta BONNYMAN sang "In the Beautiful Garden of Prayer." The pall bearers were Ray and Stirling MacNUTT, North River, Wilfred and Richard NELSON, Amherst, Lloyd LANGILLE and Bruce TUCKER, New Truro Road. Interment was in Sharon Cemetery in the family lot.
