OBIT # 5153 - Pictou Advocate December 16, 1987 Lester W.G. Chisholm, 70, of Hopewell, Pictou County, died Saturday, Dec. 12 in Aberdeen Hospital. Born in Caledonia, Guysborough County, he was the son of the late John Knox and Margaret Katherine (MacIntosh) Chisholm. He lived in Hopewell for the past 28 years, having previously lived in Fiverton and Stillwater. He was a member and Elder of First Presbyterian Church, Hopewell, and was a retired employee of Tidewater Construction for 31 years. He was a veteran of the Second World War, having served in the Royal Canadian Air Force. He was a member of Branch 137, Royal Canadian Legion, Hopewell. Besides his wife, the former Mary MacDonald, he is survived by a son, Terry, Eureka; four daughters, Connie (Mrs Lee Hoare), Lake Echo; Kathy (Mrs Tom Marvin), Delta, B.C.; Beverly Ward, Eureka; Marlene (Mrs Don MacDougall), Dartmouth; a brother, Cliff, Sherbrooke; two sisters, Ruby (Mrs Trueman Cruickshank), Sherbrooke; Evelyn (Mrs Scott MacKeen), Aspen, Guysborough County; nine grandchildren; two great-grandsons. He was predeceased by an infant brother. Funeral was held Monday, Dec. 14 in First Presbyterian Church, Hopewell, Rev. Charles MacPherson officiating. Burial was in Foxbrook Cemetery.
