    3. UNKNOWN PAPER - 6 MAY 1944 JAMES H.D. MACKAY - Denmark - The death occurred at Kellogg Idaho, on April 14, of James H.D. MacKAY, youngest son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John C. MacKAY of Balmoral Mills. "Jim Herdie" as he was familiarly called left his native province in 1901 going first to British Columbia. For a number of years he lived in Trail B.C., where he worked as carpenter with the Canadian consolidated and mining company. Leaving Trail he finally settled in Kellogg Idaho where he spent the last 16 years. The funeral was held in April 16, and many friends gathered to pay their last respects, to one who had spent many years in that town. The Funeral Home where the service were held was banked with beautiful floral tributes which came from various parts of British Columbia and Nevada as well as from Idaho, testifying to the esteem in which the deceased was held. The burial services was under the auspices of the Masonic Order, of which Mr. MacKAY was a member. He is survived by his wife who was formerly Miss Janie HASTINGS of Watervale, Pictou Co., and one brother George A. of River John. The sisters Margaret, of Balmoral Mills, Vannie (Mrs. A.E. YEAW) of Pictou, N.S. and Mrs. Ethel MATHESON of North Earltown. A nephew John W. MacKAY, of Spokane Wash, attended the funeral services. Sincere sympathy is expressed for the lonely widow, also for the sisters and brothers who are called upon to bear the loss of a loved one.
