Charles Guy Spidle 1960 Bridgewater Bulletin After a few weeks of illness, at an early hour Monday morning, December 26th., Charles Guy Spidle passed peacefully away in his sleep at his home at Scarsdale, at the age of 78 years, 4 months. He was the son of the late Abner Spidle and Josephine (Robar) Spidle and was born at New Cornwall in 1882. At an early age, he, with his parents, moved to his late home at Scarsdale. He is survived by his wife, the former Rhea Wentzel of Maplewood; one daughter, Arleen (Mrs. Oran Veinot); one granddaughter, Mary Veinot; one sister, Minnie (Mrs. Edward Spidle), Barss Corner; and a number of nieces and nephews, besides a great many other relatives and friends. One brother, Bertram, predeceased him in 1935. He was a member of Emmanuel United Baptist Church of Parkdale-Maplewood. The funeral service, conducted by Rev. W.G. Killam of Barss Corner, was held in Emmanuel Baptist Church, with burial in the cemetery at Parkdale, Wednesday at 2 o'clock. The church choir was in attendance, accompanied at the organ by Mr. Arthur Langille, Barss Corner and sang "The Garden of Prayer" and "When My Life's Work is Ended." The pall bearers were Carl and Doran Spidle, Murray, Ray, and Leland Wentzel, and LeRoy Webber.
