Dorothy Arleen Wilkie 2005 Halifax Chronicle Herald Dorothy Arleen Wilkie, 84, Lunenburg, passed away Saturday, March 12, 2005, in QEII Health Sciences Centre, Halifax. Born at Walden, she was a daughter of the late Otto and Louise (Frank) Wile. Dorothy worked as a cook at the Lunenburg County Correctional Centre for a number of years. She was an avid gardener, loved music, knitting, and crocheting, and kept the neighbours happy with her baking. She was a member of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Lunenburg. She is survived by daughters, Sheila (Danny) Hoskins, Dayspring; Janine Zwicker and Colin Whynot, Bridgewater; sons, Warren "Sonny" Hebb and companion Patricia Selig, Pinehurst; Herbert (Sandra) Hebb, Lunenburg; sister, Esther (Cyril) Wentzell, Bridgewater; nine grandchildren; and seven step-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert; brothers, Leroy, Ellis, Wilson; sisters, Phyllis, Kay, and Marjorie. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, Lunenburg, where a memorial service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Rev. Kenneth Wild officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia, or a charity of your choice.
