Carl Herbert Himmelman 2000 Halifax Chronicle Herald Published: Wednesday, February 9, 2000. >From the collection of Gwen Christie Carl Herbert Himmelman, 75, Bridgewater, died February 7, 2000, in the South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born at New Cumberland, he was a son of the late William and Annie (Cross) Himmelman. He was the previous owner of Himmelman Fuels, Halifax. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Halifax and the Nova Scotia Ox Pull Association. Surviving are his wife, the former Verlene Publicover, daughter, Ann DeLong, Alberta; sons, John, Tom, Halifax; stepson, Darrell, Pinegrove; sisters, Phyllis Conrad, New Germany; Mona Wheeler, Halifax; Marie Snyder, Conquerall Bank; brother, Ronald Sarty, Dartmouth; eight grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his first wife, the former Olive Edmonds; brother, Charles. No visitation in the funeral home. Graveside service 1 p.m. Thursday, in Brookside Cemetery, Bridgewater, Rev. Hugh McNally officiating. Family flowers only. Donations to Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia, Canadian Cancer Society or South Shore Regional Hospital Foundation.
