G. Cecil Day August, 1976. Bridgewater Bulletin G. Cecil Day, 8, of Waterloo Street, Liverpool, died Saturday in Queens General Hospital. Born in Wales, he was the son of the late Roland and Ann (Whittal) Day. He moved to Prince Edward Island with his parents at an early age and attended Prince of Wales College, Charlottetown and then entered the newspaper field. He moved to Liverpool in 1931 and worked for the weekly paper, The Liverpool Advance. He later purchased the paper and fromed the Advance Publishing Company of which he was owner and editor until his retirement in 1969 and continued to write a column in the paper until the time of his death. He was a member of the Liverpool Lions Club and was past president and district governor of the Lions. He was a member of Prince of Wales Lodge AF and AM and past president of the Weekly Newspaper Association and a member of the Georgia Press Association. Surviving are her wife, the former Elizabeth Harlow; a daughter, Beverley (Mrs. Weldon F. Burlock), Kingston, Ontario; a son, Stephen, Barrie, Ontario; a sister, Elsie (Mrs. Mert Waddell), Newburyport, Mass.; and three grandchildren. He was predeceased by two brothers and a sister. The body rested at Chandlers' Funeral Home, Liverpool. Funeral service will be held today, Wednesday, at 2:30 p.m. in Trinity Anglican Church, Liverpool, Rev. Donald Ruggles officiating, assisted by Rev. Fred Gordon. Burial will be in Trinity Anglican Cemetery, Liverpool.
