OBIT # 5250 - EASTERN CHRONICLE - 9 NOVEMBER 1944: The death of MRS.SARAH BROWNING occured at the home of DONALD HENDERSON, South Main Street, Westville, where she resided the past three months, with her daughter,MRS.FRED MacLEOD. Mrs.Browning was the former SARAH AUSTIN, daughter of the late Mr.and Mrs.JAMES AUSTIN, and was born at Sutherland's River 60 years ago. For the past 35 years she resided at French River and burial was made there following the funeral service conducted in Westville by Capt. Gallant and Lieut.Richards of the Salvation Army. A second service was held at the French River Presbyterian Church, conducted by Rev.F.G. MacDonald. Mrs.Browning is survived by three daughters and one son, MRS. FRED MacLEOD, MRS.JOSEPH TIMMONS, Westville; MRS.DUNCAN HAGGART and JAMES, both of French River; five sisters and two brothers, MRS.SAMUEL PIKE, Providence,R.I.; MRS.JOHN MUIRHEAD, Little Harbour; MRS.IRVING ARBUCKLE, Egerton; MRS.GEORGE MILLER, Providence; MISS MARIA AUSTIN, Stellarton; WILLIAM AUSTIN, Dartmouth; and JAMES AUSTIN in British Columbia.
