    3. Charles Ernest Whynot 2001 Halifax Chronicle Herald Charles Ernest Whynot, 82, Nictaux Falls, died April 30, 2001, in Soldiers Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born at Northfield, he was a son of the late Leon and Elsie (Dimmel) Whynot. He was a veteran of the Second World War, serving overseas with the West Nova Scotia Regiment. He farmed, worked on construction projects, was employed with the Department of Highways and CFB Greenwood. He was a member of Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 1, Middleton. Surviving are his wife, the former Lillian May Tiller; children, Kenneth (Geraldine), Dartmouth; Frank (Dale), Mount Hanley; Nadine (Ricky) Balcome, Wilmot; son-in-law, David Tattersall, Melvern Square; grandchildren, Janet, Jennifer, Randy and Marty; brothers, Pearlie, Harmony; Russell, Greenwood Square; sisters, Marjorie Chales, Montreal; Alice Jamieson, Dartmouth; Alberta Beach, Edmonton. He was predeceased by his daughter, Jean Tattersall; sister, Audrey Williams; brother, Ralph. Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 1, Middleton will hold a service 7 p.m. today, memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, both in Warren T. Roop Funeral Home, Middleton, Rev. Bill McLeod officiating. Donations in his memory may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or a charity of choice.
