    3. Ephriam Conrad 1940 Sudden death cast a gloom over First South on Thursday, October 10, when it claimed a husband and father in the person of Ephriam Conrad, at the age of 75 years. Though in ordinary health considering his age, he went to his work every day. His sudden passing was a shock to his family and friends. He leaves to mourn their loss his wife, who was formerly Agnes Mosher, of Kingsburg, and four daughters, Ma (Mrs. Bennett Lohnes), Susan (Mrs. Albert Wentzell); Muriel (Mrs. Foster Wentzell); and Jean (Mrs. Wesley Demone); four grandchildren and one great grandchild; one brother, Obediah Conrad, of Lunenburg. He was a son of Edward and Casandra Conrad of First South. He was a faithful member of Grace Lutheran Church and served as janitor for 22 years. The funeral service was held at the house and then to the church. Owing to the absence of the pastor, Rev. George Innes, the service was performed by Revs. E.V. Nonamaker and Shiery of Mahone Bay. Hymns sung were "Jesus, Lover of My Soul," "God Moves in a Mysterious Way," "Thou Art My Hiding Place," and "Abide With Me." The text, Rev. 2:10 (Be thou faithful unto death and I will give thee a crown of Life) was used. Interment was in the First South Cemetery.
