Theresa Baker 2000 Halifax Chronicle Herald Published: Tuesday, January 25, 2000. >From the collection of Gwen Christie Theresa Baker, 91, Shoreham Village Home for Special Care, Chester and formerly of Tancook Island, died peacefully January 24, 2000, in the South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born on Tancook Island, she was a daughter of the late David and Armenia (Cross) Baker. She was a member of Tancook Baptist Church, the Women's Missionary Society, and the L.O.B.A. She was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother and was loved by all who knew her and will be greatly missed. Surviving are her son, Gerald, Chester; daughter, Greta Wilneff, Dartmouth; stepdaughter, Florence Patroni; sister, Hilda Wilson, both of Florida; grandchildren, Darrin Baker, Christine Stevens, Roger Wilneff and great-grandchildren, Erica, Lynette, Laura, and Jackie; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Stanley; brothers, Howard, Clifford, and Ralph Baker; sisters, Verna Young, Pearl "Dolly" Garrison. Visitation will be Wednesday, from 2-4 p.m., in Davis Funeral Home, Chester. Funeral service will be Thursday at 2 p.m. in the Tancook Baptist Church, Pastor Philip Williams officiating. Burial in the church cemetery. Family flowers only. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Tancook Baptist Church or any charity. A time of fellowship will be held for family and friends at the recreation hall on Tancook Island before and following the service. Ferry service will leave Chester for the island on Thursday at 10:30 a.m., returning at 4:30 p.m.
