Ellen Harrington 2000 Halifax Chronicle Herald Published: Friday, February 4, 2000. >From the collection of Gwen Christie Ellen "Vera" Harrington, 80, Halifax, died February 2, 2000, in Fairview Villa, Halifax. Born at South West Port Mouton, she was a daughter of the late Ernest and Bertha (Williams) Fisher. She spent many years taking care of the sick and elderly. She was an avid lover of bingo and knitting. Surviving are daughters, Deanna Roy, Liverpool; Thelma Ash, Halifax; sons, Eric, Hunt's Point; Clayton, Prince Rupert, B.C.; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Ernest Harrington; brother, Earl. Visitation 7-9 p.m. today, funeral 2 p.m. Saturday, both in Chandlers' Funeral Home, Liverpool, Rev. Karen Lynch officiating. Burial will be in the Peaceful Hill Cemetery, Port Mouton. Family flowers only. Donations to the Alzheimer Society of Canada.
