UNKNOWN PAPER - AUGUST 1923 AGNES MARION MILLER - On Thursday, August 23rd, 1923, the neighborhood of Tatamagouche Mtn. was shocked to hear of the sudden death, at the early ago of thirty-four, of Agnes Marion MILLER, at the home of her cousin Alexander CONKEY. She was in her usual health until a few days previous, when she was taken sick but did not consider herself ill enough to have medical attention, until the morning of the day she died, when Dr. MURRAY of Tatamagouche was summoned. All was done that could be, but Death claimed his own and at ten o'clock that night, just as they were about to operate for appendicitis, her spirit fled to the great beyond. In the immediate family of which she has been a member for a number of years there remain her aunt Mrs. Isabella CONKEY, Mrs. Elizabeth PURDY, and cousins Mr. and Mrs. Alexander CONKEY. Besides these are her father Mr. Geo. MILLER and brother Lawrence, residing in South Tatamagouche; her sister Gertrude, (Mrs. Louis HAMM) Bangor, Me., and Bertha of Newtown, Guys., Co., N.S. all of whom were present at the funeral except the latter who could not be located. In the profession of teaching, Miss MILLER has had a very successful career, and the exceptionally large funeral showed the esteem and respect in which she was held by the people of the sections where she had taught, as well as in the vicinity of New Annan. The funeral was held from the Presbyterian Church at Tatamagouche Mtn. on Sunday at 2 P.M. The services was conducted by Rev. A. T. MacDONALD, Pastor of the Pres-Church of which she had been a valued member for several years, assisted by Rev. P.C. CLARKE, (Baptist) of Maine. The choir sang "Sweetly Resting," Jesus is all the World to Me" and We'll Never Say Good-bye in Heaven." The floral offerings wee beautiful and as follows: Wreath - Tatamagouche Mtn. Congregation.
