Harry B. MacKay 1992 Halifax Chronicle Herald Harry B. MacKay, 88, Mahone Bay, died October 26, 1992, in Fishermen's Memorial Hospital, Lunenburg. Born at Canso, he was a son of the late John and Annie (Grant) MacKay. He was a member of Trinity United Church, Mahone Bay. He was a graduate of Mount Allison University and University of Chicago. He taught in various schools in Nova Scotia, Ashbury College, Ottawa, and Ridley College, St. Catharine's, Ontario. He returned to Nova Scotia in 1946 where he operated an insurance company until retiring in 1972. He was a founding member and director of Mahone Choral Club for seven years. He is survived by his wife, the former Margaret MacLean; daughter, Judith (Mrs. Gilbert van Ryckevorsel), Dartmouth; two granddaughters. He was predeceased by four brothers, Grant, Guy, William, Harris; sister, Lillian Corkum; two stepbrothers, Percy, Eddie. The body has been cremated under the direction of Mahone Funeral Home, Mahone Bay. There will be no visitation. A memorial servicel will be 3 pm. Friday in Trinity United Church, Mahone Bay, Rev. Fred Snyder officiating. Burial will be in Park Cemetery, Mahone Bay. Donations may be made to any charity.
